Relationship Problems during Pregnancy

Here are some tips to deal with some relationship problems that may arise during pregnancy:

  1. Understand that it is normal for couples to argue, even if you’re in a healthy relationship.

  2. Try to talk openly to each other about your feelings and anxieties about the future. Take turns to listen to each other.

  3. Try not to be accusing or negative. Instead, think about practical things you could both do to make things better.

  4. Try to understand things from each other’s point of view as well as your own.

  5. Talking about how you feel won’t always stop you arguing. But it will make you feel better prepared for the changes ahead and reassure you that you have a strong, healthy and loving relationship.

  6. If you are feeling unhappy and want to try relationship advice, talk to your family doctor. We are always developing new ways to help you and your partner throughout your pregnancy and there are many varieties in counselling to suit your financial, physical, or emotional needs!
